Cam Newton reportedly considering foot surgery

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is considering surgery to repair the lisfranc injury he originally suffered in the third preseason game against the New England Patriots. With surgery, he would obviously not be available for the postseason, should the Panthers make the playoffs with Kyle Allen at the helm. A full recovery should be expected by around March if he does, in fact, have the surgery.

An eight-to-ten-week recovery time would not be the end of the world, and Cam would definitely be ready by the time any team activities started in late Spring.
