Before the 2019 NFL Draft, I was fortunate enough to get in contact with Stanley McClover via Twitter. Stanley formerly played for the Carolina Panthers and is the older brother to their newest first round pick, Brian Burns. He and I discussed Burns’ potential and the chance that he could follow in his older brother’s footsteps in being drafted by Carolina. We both figured it to be unlikely at best, a dream scenario for McClover (and a huge chunk of Panthers faithful).
When Burns was selected at No. 16 overall by the Panthers, Stanley was with him in the green room in Nashville.
