Cam Newton receives a lot of criticism for his play despite leading the Carolina Panthers during their most successful stint in franchise history. Since arriving in 2011 via the No. 1 overall pick of the NFL Draft, Newton and the Panthers are 64-47-1 in regular season play with three divisional titles, four trips to the playoffs and a Super Bowl appearance.
A Lombardi Trophy may not yet call Charlotte home but Newton isn’t finished. At 29, he’s entered an age range where signal callers typically begin to flourish and many are expecting big things from him this season.
