Instant Reaction: Bengals Tie Panthers 37-37 In High-Scoring Thriller

After five quarters of football, the Bengals and the Panthers played to a thrilling draw.

Turning Point: For the first time since week 12 of 2013, there wasn't one. It looked like the Bengals had done enough to escape with a game-winning field goal as time expired, but Mike Nugent's kick went wide right to give us our first tie in almost a year.

Key Stat: 18-33 - both teams combined to convert on 18 of 33 third down attempts. The extended drives kept the offenses flowing, and we got an incredibly entertaining game as a result.

Bengals MVP: This one is too tough to call, so we'll give it to both RB Gio Bernard and WR Mohamed Sanu. Bernard had a career day thanks to his 89-yard TD spring, and Sanu once again showed he has all the makings of a #1 receiver in the NFL.

Panthers MVP: If Cam Newton could catch his own passes, he probably would have tried to. Newton ended the day with almost 300 passing yards, over 100 rushing yards, and three total touchdowns.

Play of the Game: Gio Bernard's 89-yard TD run was the standout in a thrilling game, barely getting the edge over Adam Jones' 97-yard return.

What’s Next? The Panthers travel to Green Bay for a tough road game at Lambeau Field, while the Bengals hit the road to face Andrew Luck and the 4-2 Colts.
