The ninth win of the season was achieved for the Carolina Hurricanes by getting revenge on the New York Islanders on Nov. 19. On Nov. 16, the Islanders defeated the Canes at the Barclays Center, just three days before the tables were turned at PNC Arena in Raleigh.
Cam Ward got the nod for the Canes between the pipes, and he did not disappoint. Just one night after Scott Darling shut the door on the Buffalo Sabres in a 3-1 win on Nov. 16, Ward held the Islanders to just two goals. When New York really poured on the pressure in the second period, Ward held strong.
