The Hurricanes on Sunday assigned five players who cleared waivers as well as two others to the Charlotte Checkers as part of the second round of training camp cuts.
Earlier this week, Carolina placed forwards Patrick Brown and Andrew Miller on waivers alongside defensemen Brenden Kichton, Dennis Robertson and Philip Samuelsson. All five cleared waivers and were moved to the Checkers, as expected.
They were joined in assignment by forward Julien Gauthier and defenseman Roland McKeown. The release from the team and the updated roster is below.
