The Carolina Hurricanes took on the Buffalo Sabres in their last game of their long road trip. The Hurricanes had plenty of issues trying to stop Jack Eichel, but his hat trick wasn’t enough to keep the Canes from heading home with a 5-4 overtime win.
The first period of play saw a few chances both way but a few good saves at either end by Cam Ward and Chad Johnson kept the period scoreless.
Despite being unusually outshot in the second period, the Hurricanes struck first with a Williams goal at the 10:16 mark.
