Johnston Retires; Whitney Added as Pro Scout

RALEIGH, NC Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team’s director of professional scouting, Marshall Johnston, has retired. Francis also announced that Ray Whitney has been added to the team’s full-time professional scouting staff.

“Marshall had a truly amazing career in the game as a player, coach and manager,” said Francis. “From the college level to the NHL and in international competition, he has had a lasting impact not only on the sport, but also on so many of the people in it.
