RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Danny Biega from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Biega, 24, played 10 games on the NHL level for the Hurricanes in 2014-15, totaling two assists. The Montreal native also appeared in 69 games for Charlotte, totaling two goals and 12 assists (14 points). Selected by the Hurricanes in the third round, 67th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Biega has totaled 32 points (5g, 27a) in 135 career AHL games with the Checkers.
