Carolina Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho left Saturday’s road game against the Boston Bruins with an apparent leg injury.
Aho, the Canes’ leading scorer this season with 33 points, was injured with 1:35 left in the first period. While battling the Bruins’ Riley Nash for a puck along the boards, Aho and Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller got their legs tangled and Aho awkwardly fell backward.
Aho slowly skated to the Canes bench, favoring his right leg, and did not return to the game.
Aho has been playing his best hockey of the season, carrying a career-best six-game point streak into the game in Boston.
