High scoring game falls in Canes favor over Habs 6-5

With a lot at stake for both the Montreal Canadiens and Carolina Hurricanes, during a Jan. 25 battle, at the Bell Centre, only one team could keep strong in the race for the respective divisions. Carolina entered the night five points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets, in the wildcard race, for the final two playoff spots.

Meanwhile, the Habs are still alive in the Atlantic Division, but the top three teams are really starting to separate from Montreal and the Detroit Red Wings. Carey Price and the Habs could catch fire down the stretch and still make a playoff push, but things are looking increasingly bleak.
