A familiar duo combined for the overtime game-winner in Carolina to keep the Hurricanes undefeated at home as they beat the Buffalo Sabres, 3-2 in OT at the PNC on Tuesday night.
Sebastian Aho and Martin Necas were literally skating circles around the Sabres when Aho finally found an open Necas near the goal. Necas made no mistake to keep the Canes undefeated in overtime as well.
The win gives the Canes a 4-0-0 record at home and an overall record of 8-5-0.
At times the home team was dominating and had several close calls that did not connect and Buffalo took advantage of a couple of opportunities to keep things close.
