Ducks rally, top Hurricanes 4-3 in shootout

Justin Faulk’s goal, on a bomb of a shot, gave the Carolina Hurricanes the lead.

But the Canes couldn’t finish it off Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks at PNC Arena, losing 4-3 in a shootout on Corey Perry’s goal.

Jakob Silfverberg’s goal with 4:48 left in regulation gave the Ducks a 3-3 tie. Faulk had a shot hit the post with less than two minutes remaining, and the game soon was headed to overtime.

Sebastian Aho had a breakaway for the Canes in OT but was denied by goalie Ryan Miller, playing his first game for the Ducks.
