Missing most of the 2018-19 NHL season with injury, Jamie McGinn signed a PTO with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL last week. An 11 year NHL vet of 617 regular season games, Jamie is the older brother of current Carolina Hurricanes forward Brock McGinn.
Coming off back surgery, Jamie only appeared in 19 games with the Florida Panthers this past season. Putting up seven points, four goals and three assists, his production put him on pace for roughly 30 points, 17 of those goals, over a full NHL season.
The physical winger has been known to be a solid net front presence throughout his career, something the Hurricanes seem to always need more of.
