The Carolina Hurricanes were defeated by the St. Louis Blues for the second consecutive loss against a Western Conference opponent. Blues goalie Carter Hutton had a huge night with 26 saves and only letting in one goal against the Canes.
Jeff Skinner notched the only goal for the Canes on a beautiful move from Justin Williams. Too many times have the Canes relied on Skinner’s scoring to carry them to victory. This was the third time that Carolina lost a game where Skinner scored the only goal. It was his sixth of the season.
Jaden Schwartz and Brayden Schenn got on the board for the Blues.
