The rumor mill is churning with the situation surrounding the head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes Bill Peters. Since he could opt out of his current contract in Raleigh, Peters could make a decision to take over at the helm for another team in the NHL very soon. The news as to Peters’ decision with the Canes could come within the week, as of April 17.
In his fourth season with the Canes in 2017-18, Peters rounded out with a 36-35-11 record, placing his squad third from the bottom in the Metropolitan Division. He actually saw a regression in points from the previous season, even though the team was seemingly more talented across the board.
