What the Carolina Hurricanes do with a ton of cap room this summer in a largely emphatic off-season for this sinking franchise will be interesting to follow. One player the Canes have a huge decision to make about is 14-year tenured goaltender Cam Ward. With fellow Canes goalie Scott Darling locked up for another few years, Ward becomes a bit more expendable.
Since this is a sparse free agent goalie market for the off-season, the Canes should think carefully about what they do in regards to the Ward situation. He came at a premium this season, as the Canes best goalie throughout the entire regular season.
