It’ll be Jordan Staal’s night in PNC Arena Monday, as the former Stanley Cup champion and current Carolina Hurricanes’ captain will suit up for his 1,000th NHL game.
If you missed it from earlier, here’s a look at Staal’s tenure with the Hurricanes, as he gets to hit the millennium mark Monday night. When he takes the ice Monday, he’ll be the fifth player ever to play game 1,000 while on the Hurricanes/Whalers and the first since 2009.
“I didn’t really expect it growing up, and I just wanted to make the NHL and wanted to work hard, make an impression and keep playing,” Staal said.
