THe Carolina Hurricanes have arguably the best AHL affiliate in the league in the form of the Charlotte Checkers. For the third year in a row they are seeking the Calder Cup and each year they seem to get further along.
The Charlotte Checkers are currently playing the Toronto Marlies in the AHL Eastern Conference Finals. At the time of writing this article, the Checkers are tied in the series 1-1 after a phenomenal 3rd period comeback in Game 2. The Checkers have come a long way this season along with the Carolina Hurricanes, and look to continue their playoff berth in the coming days.
