Three days after having a three game win streak snapped at home versus the New Jersey Devils, the Carolina Hurricanes traveled to the city of independence to take on the Philadelphia Flyers. Both teams were coming off of losses, and the Hurricanes wanted to continue their winning ways against the Flyers after sweeping the four game series last season.
This did not happen.
The day started off with bad news for the Hurricanes due to Erik Haula not making the trip to Philly forcing the canes to carry 11 forwards and 7 defenseman.
