Carolina Hurricanes: Three takeaways from Avs shutout win

The Carolina Hurricanes are sitting *somewhat* comfortably in a playoff spot after the 3-0 shutout win last night, and Petr Mrazek could probably make a successful run as Governor of North Carolina at this point in time. All politics aside, Pete was sensational last night – I mean seriously, it was one of the best goaltending performances I think I’ve ever watched.

The rest of the team was pretty great, too. The Canes came to play and everybody was laser-focused for a performance that gave me legitimate hope for this team as the season unwinds.

There are a TON of positives that Caniacs can take away from that game – like the fact that they reclaimed 3rd in the in the Metro, they have a 4 point advantage on Montreal and Columbus with the same amount of games played, and they have already tied their season total for points from last year with 13 games still left to be played.
