A statistic I looked up recently, which surprised me, was our shots per game. With 35.1, the Canes are soaring high at 2nd in the NHL. Generally, the more shots you get, the more goals you score; the key word being generally.
Before I get to my point, let’s talk about shooting percentage. As you probably know, shooting percentage calculates the amount of shots that go into the net. If my shooting percentage is 20%, then 20% of my shots go into the net.
There has been a lot of debate on whether a player can actually control his shooting percentage.
