Stelio Mattheos, The Carolina Hurricanes 3rd round pick from 2017, has signed with the Carolina Hurricanes for three years. He was sent back to his WHL Brandon Wheat Kings team for further development. There he earned himself captaincy of the team as he continued the excellent play that caught the attention of the Hurricanes scouts.

While the 2019-2020 season is his first actual year on that contract he will still join the Charlotte Checkers as they make a run for top team in the AHL and the Calder Cup Finals.
