With the rest of the Metropolitan Division leaving the Carolina Hurricanes in the rear view mirror, the playoffs are starting to look more and more out of reach. The strategy the Canes are using, of trying to build this roster for a brighter future, is great for the future of the team. However, fans are growing increasingly impatient with the results over the past decade.
A single factor contributing to the bump in the road to a possible playoff run in 2017-18 is the play of goalie Scott Darling. This was another tough outing for Darling, as he has not fared well against any team outside of the Metro.
