It was a great night for fans of the Carolina Hurricanes after the conclusion of a regular season for the first time in a very long time. Carolina landed the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, by way of the lottery. They only fell short to the Buffalo Sabres, one of the lottery favorites to get the top overall pick.
This is huge for the Canes considering the level of talent available in this class. Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin is at the top of the board for the Canes, and if he slips to the second pick that would be huge.
