Earlier this afternoon, Don Waddell, Carolina Hurricanes President and General Manager, announced that they had acquired defenseman Kyle Wood from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenseman Trevor Carrick.
Waddell had this to say about the move in the press release announcing the trade, ” Kyle is a big, puck-moving defenseman. He’s a couple years younger than Trevor, and will have time to continue to develop on Charlotte’s blueline. We thank Trevor for his contributions to our organization and wish him the best in San Jose.”
Kyle Wood was drafted 83rd overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2014 draft.
