Carolina Hurricanes: Goaltending still an issue

If the Carolina Hurricanes proved anything in the Nov. 24 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs at home at PNC Arena, it was that the goaltending still has a long way to go. Cam Ward got the nod against the Leafs and gave up four goals on 16 shots.

Ward struggled so much that head coach Bill Peters yanked him before the start of the third period for Scott Darling. While Darling did give the Canes a jolt of energy, even he did not finish with a save percentage above .900. Darling stopped eight of the Leafs nine shots, with Patrick Marleau notching a power play goal in the middle of the third period.
