Carolina Hurricanes forward Max Pacioretty out for 6 months with torn Achillies

Late at night on the 9th of August, the Hurricanes announced that new forward Max Pacioretty will undergo surgery in Raleigh tomorrow for a torn Achilles and will be out for around six months. This is awful news for the player, for the organization, and for us as fans that were excited to see a player like Max Pacioretty play in Carolina with this coach and in this system.

At 33 years old, Pacioretty has started to develop some concern about his body given his age and how often he seems to spend time in the treatment rooms and missing games.
