For the Carolina Hurricanes, October went about as well as you could reasonably ask. They opened up with a franchise record setting 5 game winning streak before falling to Colombus. They did their obligatory California road trip really early in the season losing 2 of the 3 matchups in the golden state. That road trip was bookmarked by another CBJ loss, this time in OT.
They did come back home however and ended the month with two solid wins, a shutout and an epic third period comeback. The team now sits 2nd in the Metropolitan division with an 8-3-1 record.
