With this week’s reports that the entire St Louis Blues roster could be available, there could be no better time to acquire some scoring help for our troubled Carolina Hurricanes. One thing that does limit the Canes’ opportunity here is the sheer number of Blues players holding no-trade clauses; the likes of Alex Pietrangelo, Alex Steen, David Perron, Tyler Bozak, Patrick Maroon and Jay Bouwmeester all hold NTCs that could block any move to Raleigh.
We therefore begin with a trade that would improve the Canes’ scoring threat, and would jolt the Blues’ lineup.
