Dallas billionaire, Tom Dundon, is in the process of purchasing the Carolina Hurricanes. Wait. Dallas? That’s in Texas! Houston’s in Texas! Houston wants an NHL team. Oh no! OH N- never mind, Bettman says we’re staying in Raleigh.
That got worrisome for a minute. With all the talk of low attendance in the south, and expansion, you just never know. Anyways, what do we know about this Dundon guy?
Well, he’s a former CEO of Santander Group and an investor in Top Golf. So presumably, Dundon has made his fortune through golf clubs and capitalism. The Hurricanes are estimated to be worth around 500 million bucks.
