The Carolina Hurricanes extended their win streak to three games after defeating the Detroit Red Wings 5-2 last night. Now sweeping the three game series, the Hurricanes find themselves back into the first wild card spot, and five points behind the third place Penguins with a game at hand.
In a back and forth, physical contest, Jake Gardiner continued his solid play of late. Now with five points in the past two games, a goal and four assists, he looks to have finally settled in with his new team and playing like the player that earned a four year deal this past offseason.
