The 6’5″, 203 lb. Sutter is from the famous Sutter family, and has appeared in four NHL games in his career since being drafted by the Hurricanes in the 7th round of the 2011 Entry Draft.
For the inexperienced Sutter, his first NHL recall of the season will be a baptism by fire. At the AHL level, Sutter has been playing the role of a checking forward, tallying 24 goals and 59 points in 141 games playing with the Charlotte Checkers.
Sutter’s big frame and ability to play center and wing makes him a valuable asset in a bottom line role.
