The Canes took the first game, 5-1, at home in another great preseason showing. This time, they will send a healthy mix of veterans and rookies to the ice, and Rod Brind’Amour said before the game that a handful of guys “have a lot riding on this game” if they want a roster spot.
Martin Necas is one of those guys, and he’ll work with the AHL leader in goals scores last year, Valentin Zykov, to try to get some offensive production on the second line.
