The free agency rumors of prized off-season target and New York Islanders superstar center John Tavares are soon to explode. He’d be a great fit with most teams around the NHL, aside from the cap space required to land him. The Carolina Hurricanes are a team that needs to at least try to pursue a player like Tavares this off-season, to start to address some major needs.
On March 17, the Canes hit the road with a destination of Brooklyn, NY, to face a fading squad in the Isles. The combination of the Isles’ front office, similar to that of the Canes, showing little effort in bolstering the roster around Tavares, and them falling in the standings, means a potential departure from the franchise he’s spend his entire NHL career with.
