This was a hard-fought battle for 65-plus minutes. The Carolina Hurricanes played well enough to win, but still needed some late game heroics/luck to get the W, and the Penguins still ended up with a point. The rest of the relevant teams basically split yesterday, so it was essentially a must-win game for the Canes.
Petr Mrazek, Justin Williams, and Andrei Svechnikov highlighted this complete team win. Other than a breakdown at the end of the third period and an ill-advised pinch by Brett Pesce, everyone really played great against a good Penguins team.
