Carolina Hurricanes: 3 reasons to 2018-19 will be career season for Jordan Staal

The season is in review at this point for the Carolina Hurricanes. With eight teams from the Eastern Conference still in action, all the Canes can do at this point is sit and watch and hope for better next season. One player that could really step up next season and get back to the contention level he was at with the Pittsburgh Penguins is Carolina co-captain center Jordan Staal.

For much of the season, head coach Bill Peters entrusted Staal to center the Canes immensely skilled first line Finnish winger duo of Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen. Yet, much like Peters did in the past three years, he moved the combinations around even from the top.
