The Carolina Hurricanes are coming off of a huge 5-0 win over the Washington Capitals in Raleigh Monday night. Despite losing forwards Micheal Ferland and Andrei Svechnikov in the first period, the Hurricanes were able to surge past the Capitals and bring home a decisive victory in an extremely important game.
The Hurricanes skated with 10 forwards last night after Micheal Ferland re-aggravated an apparent upper-body injury he sustained in Game 1. Andrei Svechnikov was also scratched from the game shortly after.
The rookie forward dropped the gloves in a controversial fight with Alex Ovechkin and was forced to leave the game in the first period to undergo the NHL’s mandated concussion protocol.
