The Carolina Hurricanes had a tough road matchup on Nov. 16, hitting the road to face the New York Islanders at the Barclays Center. Coming off a big 5-1 win over the Dallas at PNC Arena on Nov. 13, the Canes needed to avoid a letdown to keep gaining ground in the Metropolitan Division.
New York took down the Canes, with three straight goals in the latter part of the third period. Thomas Greiss held strong down the stretch, preventing the Canes from getting an equalizer. Cal Clutterbuck, Josh Bailey, Nick Leddy, and Matthew Barzal led the way for the Islanders, with at least two points each.
