The Carolina Hurricanes are on the verge of getting swept by the Boston Bruins from the Eastern Conference Final.
Despite their best performance of the series, the Hurricanes dropped a 2-1 decision in Game 3.
For most of this contest, the Hurricanes were the better team. They outplayed, outshot and out-hit the Bruins, especially in the first period, generating several quality scoring chances. For all their efforts, they got just one shot past Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask.
The Hurricanes' anemic power play didn't help matters, failing to cash in on five man-advantage opportunities.
