In case you missed it, last night the Carolina Hurricanes selected center Ryan Suzuki, brother of Nick Suzuki (selected 13th by Vegas in the 2017 draft) and Barrie Colts teammate of Andrei Svechnikov, with the 28th pick in the 2019 NHL draft.
Round 1
Projected to be drafted earlier in the first round, the Canes probably weren’t expecting a player like Suzuki to be available at 28. A few other players are in the same situation, predicted to be selected in the first round yet still on the board.
