The Carolina Hurricanes, for the first time ever, were one of the three teams whose numbers came up in the 2018 NHL Draft Lottery held in Toronto on Saturday night. Although they had been in the lottery for nine consecutive years, the Canes finally broke their streak of never being one of the lucky teams to move up the draft board.
It will be the highest the Hurricanes have picked since selecting Jack Johnson third in the 2005 NHL Draft.
Below is the order as it stands, with the top three teams to be revealed during the second intermission of tonight’s Game 2 between the Sharks and Golden Knights.
