This coming May is the 40th anniversary of the Atlanta Flames moving to Calgary. To commemorate this occasion, we’re counting down the Top 40 Calgary Flames in history.
Coming in at #27 is Alex Tanguay.
Of all the players that the Flames tried on Jarome Iginla’s left wing, Tanguay may have been the one that worked out the best – sorry Dean McAmmond, you’re in second place. He had two stints and both were tied to trying to get the absolute most out of Iginla’s line.
After the Flames won their division in 2005-06 but couldn’t get out of the first round, general manager Darryl Sutter did what he always did – he traded some draft picks to upgrade his roster.
