The Morning After Edmonton: Mikael Backlund Does Something New

-First’s: The Flames accomplished some first’s tonight and none of them were good. This is the Flames first loss under Darryl Sutter and it’s also the first time the Flames trailed in the three games under their new coach.

-Birthday Boy: Mikael Backlund celebrated his birthday by scoring the Flames second goal, his 6th of the season. It’s the first time he’s scored on his birthday in his NHL career.

-Rough One: Jacob Markstrom didn’t have the best night and I’m sure he’d tell you the same. Markstrom surrendered all seven Edmonton goals on a total of 30 shots.
