The Daily Faceoff Show: The Flames are struggling in “measuring stick games”

The Flames have cooled off lately.

After a strong stretch in November made the team appear to be a legitimate contender, the Flames’ play in December and into early January has created some cause for concern.

Calgary has won just two of their last eight games. The two wins came against bad opponents, the Chicago Blackhawks and Seattle Kraken, while the Flames have been dropped by high-quality teams, such as the Vegas Golden Knights and, most recently, the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Frank Seravalli and Scott Burnside talked about the Flames’ record in “measuring stick games” against high-quality opponents and what it says about their status as a legitimate contender in the Western Conference.
