Rasmus Andersson fined for roughing Kailer Yamamoto in season opener

In the Calgary Flames’ first game of the season, a 5-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, defender Rasmus Andersson lost his cool after being bumped into goaltender Jacob Markstrom. Because of his actions, he’s been fined $5,000 by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.

Calgary’s Rasmus Andersson has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for Roughing Edmonton’s Kailer Yamamoto.

The incident occurred in the first period. After Andersson got up, he shoved Yamamoto (who’s much smaller than him) into the end boards and punched him a few times.
