What can you say about the first period?
The Flames were out-shot 20-3 in the first period in an effort that was one of their worst in forever. Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk was pretty blunt in his assessment of the opening 20 minutes.
“The first period isn’t how we’re going to be successful this year, to say it nicely,” said Tkachuk. “We got completely out-played in the first.
