Projecting the Seattle Kraken’s expansion draft picks (part two: defence and goaltenders)

Welcome to part two of our list of projected Seattle Kraken expansion draft picks. This time, we’ll be taking a look at the defencemen and goaltenders Kraken general manager Ron Francis could pick from the 30 teams participating in the draft.

Earlier today, we drafted 16 forwards to join our hypothetical Seattle squad. In case you missed it, here’s what that lineup looks like (previous teams listed in parentheses):

Max Domi (CBJ) – Yanni Gourde (TBL) – Vladimir Tarasenko (STL)
Evgenii Dadonov (OTT) – Jared McCann (TOR) – Jordan Eberle (NYI)
Matt Nieto (SJS) – Andreas Athanasiou (LAK) – Joonas Donskoi (COL)
Zach Aston-Reese (PIT) – Alex Volkov (ANA) – Christian Fischer (ARI)

Extras: Kole Lind (VAN), Tyler Benson (EDM), Nick Caamano (DAL), Julien Gauthier (NYR)

Defence

Jeremy Lauzon (Boston Bruins)

While Nick Ritchie is another appealing target from the Bruins, Lauzon is a year younger and can play both sides on the back-end.
