Playing their fifth road game in a row on Sunday afternoon, the Calgary Flames kept it simple. They scored on a first power play play and then played smart hockey the rest of the way en route to a 3-0 victory over the Florida Panthers.
The Rundown
The first period was pretty even, but the Flames managed to take the lead off a power play goal. Elias Lindholm found Johnny Gaudreau with a superb cross-zone feed, and Gaudreau walked in and beat Sam Montembeault with a wrist shot to make it 1-0 Flames.
Shots were 10-10 and scoring chances 8-5 Flames in the first period.
