Jets hit speed bump in loss to Avalanche

Just like that, the quest for more than mediocrity in the standings hit another speed bump.

For the seventh time this season, the Winnipeg Jets were in position to put together their first three-game winning streak of the season.

And for the seventh time this season, the Jets failed to do so.

This latest swing and a miss was a 2-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night that came in the first of a season-long six-game homestand that will wrap around the NHL All-Star break.

The Jets, now 21-22-3 on the season, 6-11-1 within the Central Division and 0-3 against the Colorado Avalanche, face the Nashville Predators on Thursday.
